Seasons Greetings, With Love

Dearest Family, Friends, & Clients,

The Holidays are usually a time to reflect on the past year, put words to what we're grateful for, and make hopeful predictions for the year ahead. We know this year has been exceptionally harder than most but we find ourselves more grateful than ever. We are thankful for the kind and considerate community that we call home and the health we're used to taking for granted. Even in the face of great uncertainty, we've felt the love, compassion, and enduring spirit of Ojai carry on without compromise.
This is what drew our family here decades ago and what continues to bring new residents to our valley; the promise of wide-open spaces, neighbors who lend a hand, and welcoming faces at every turn (even if you can only see them from the eyes up!).

In warm appreciation of our family, our dearest friends, and our trusted clients, we want to express how much each of you played a part in supporting us through this challenging year.

We wish you a joyous Holiday season ahead and a New Year filled with peace and happiness.

Sincerely,
Anne & Cassandra

HOLIDAY LIFESTYLE

Navigating COVID-19 & the Holidays

Here are some guidelines
to holiday gatherings:
  • Stay home if you do not feel well or are at higher risk.
  • Keep gatherings small, take the time to choose your tribe of friends and family and hold smaller and more intimate gatherings. Take advantage of these close social moments to really enjoy and engage.
  • Hold small gatherings outside if possible. Granted, that may be a challenge for some of us in -20-degree weather but think outside the box and find ways to engage. Consider this your challenge for the winter season: create inventive ways to engage socially but responsibly. Maybe you and a small group of friends meet at a You-Cut-Christmas tree farm and pick out trees, or perhaps you bundle up with a fire pit and an outdoor movie.
  • Encourage guests to bring their own drinks and food. This will benefit you, as the host, as it will take the pressure off to provide food and beverages for your guests.

Tips for Hanging Holiday Lights

Bring the holiday warmth to your home this season with a safe and festive light display.
  • Consider hanging your lights early in the season to avoid colder weather.
  • Measure and map out how many strings of lights your home requires.
  • Choose a size and wattage that fits your needs. Mini-lights are less expensive and use less energy. Larger C7 or C9 lights are more durable and remain lit even if one bulb dies. Test for any dead bulbs to ensure your lights work properly.
  • Plug your extension cords into a ground-fault circuit interrupters (GFCI). Be sure the total wattage of your lights doesn't exceed the capacity of your outlet.
  • Mix up your light display to highlight paths, doors, windows, trees, planters and bushes.
  • Space your lights a few inches apart so they don't blend into each other.
  • Hook your lights up to an automatic timer so they turn on when the sun dips and switch off at dawn.
